A three-match ODI series between England and South Africa is set to begin on September 2. The first match will be played at Headingley, followed by the second at Lord’s. The final ODI will take place at the Rose Bowl.

Both teams are packed with quality players in every department, and fans can expect a thrilling contest in England.

England’s last ODI series was also at home when they faced the West Indies. They dominated that series and won 3-0. South Africa, on the other hand, are coming off a 2-1 ODI series win in Australia. Both sides will aim to continue their momentum in this format.

Under Harry Brook’s leadership, England will feature some exciting names. Young pacer Sonny Baker, who impressed with his pace in the recently concluded Men’s Hundred, is one to watch.

For the visitors, promising youngsters like Lhuan-Dre Pretorius, Kwena Maphaka, and Dewald Brevis could make an impact if given a chance. Brevis enjoyed an excellent tour of Australia and will be eager to continue his form in England. Captain Temba Bavuma will lead the Proteas.

When it comes to head-to-head records in England, the home side have shown clear dominance over South Africa. Out of 29 ODIs, England have won 17 and lost only nine, while three ended in a no result. Hence, for the Proteas, another tough task awaits in this series on English soil.
