“Eyes on the game, not the noise” - Shubman Gill after crushing RCB comfortably

Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill took to X (formerly Twitter) to show his excitement after an eight-wicket comfortable win over the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Wednesday, April 2.

With this victory, Gujarat Titans ascended to the fourth rank winning two games and losing one in three games, picking up four points. On the other hand, RCB slipped from the pole position to the third rank with two wins and a loss, picking up four points.

Shubman Gill posted on Twitter, shutting down his critics, “Eyes on the game, not the noise.”

After losing the toss, RCB was asked to bat first. Though they were 42/4 at one stage, Liam Livingstone's 54 off 40 and Tim David's 32 off 18 propelled RCB to a good total of 169/8 in 20 overs.

Mohammed Siraj, who was earlier part of the RCB set-up, gave out only 19 runs and scalped three important wickets. In the chase, Gujarat Titans took 17.5 overs to finish off the game with eight wickets in hand.

Jos Buttler, Sai Sudharsan, and Sherfane Rutherford were exceptional with the willow, scoring important runs. While Sudharsan scored 49 runs off 36 balls, Buttler smacked 73* off 39 balls with five fours and six sixes.

“It’s a bit surprising every time we come here, sometimes wicket is really good – looks like a 250 wicket and sometimes there’s something in it for the seamers with the new ball," Gill said at the post-match presentation.

“You are definitely disappointed but that’s the thing you always talk about that you should keep coming back at them even if you make mistakes. You have to grab the next opportunity that comes to you," he added.
