'Facing Sreesanth' - Gautam Gambhir takes dig at former Indian pacer while giving 'wrong answers only'

Former Indian teammates and two-time World Cup champions (T20I and ODI), Gautam Gambhir and S Sreesanth were in the controversial headlines just a few days back. It all started after a heated on-field altercation between Gambhir and Sreesanth during a match of the recently concluded Legends League Cricket 2023.

A lot of videos surfaced on social media following this on-field argument between former Indian stars. Sreesanth accused Gambhir of using the word ‘fixer’ for the former. Apart from that, Sreesanth also released an Instagram video in which he can be seen making a few allegations of ill-behaviour against the former Indian opener. However, Gambhir didn’t come up with any reaction.

Meanwhile, Gambhir happened to take a dig at Sreesanth during a ‘wrong answers only’ session. In this segment with Sportskeeda, Gambhir was asked about the bowler whom he was afraid of facing. With a slight smile on his face, the former Delhi star named S Sreesanth, that was supposed to be his wrong answer.

Coming back to the on-field controversy and social media battle, Gambhir posted a photo of himself from 2007 with the caption, “Smile when the world is all about attention!”. This post didn’t go down well with S Sreesanth and he couldn’t hold back from coming up with a long comment on Gambhir’s post, asking him if he was superior to the ‘apex courts’ of the country.

“You have exceeded the boundaries of a sportsman and a brother, and above all, you represent the people. Yet, you continue to engage in conflicts with every cricketer. What is the matter with you? All I did was smile and observe, and you labelled me a fixer? Seriously? Are you above the Supreme Court? You have no authority to speak in such a manner and say whatever you please. You even verbally abused the umpires, and yet you speak of smiling? You are an arrogant and utterly classless individual who lacks any form of respect for those who supported you. Until yesterday, I always held respect for you and your family,” read the comment posted by S Sreesanth on Gautam Gambhir’s Instagram post.
