Gautam Gambhir gives his opinion on debate between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi

Gautam Gambhir gives his opinion on the debate between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. The former Indian cricketer made a unique pick in this regard. While many tend to pick either of them in the debate, Gambhir had a different opinion on the two of them. When asked to pick one of them in a recent interview, Gambhir picked none and instead went for a rising star.

The KKR mentor picked Marcus Rashford over both the Football greats - Ronaldo and Messi. Gambhir took a few seconds to answer the question. Gambhir picked neither Ronaldo, nor Messi, and replied saying "None." He later added, "Because I think, I would go Marcus Rashford." Gambhir thought that watching Rashford play was more exciting than watching the other two players play. 

Ronaldo and Messi have been the greats of Football over the years. The two have numerous fans across the globe, including sportspersons across different sports. Many cricketers like Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, and others like either of them. But Gambhir is probably one of the fewest cricketers to have picked neither of them as one of his favourites to watch play.  

Gambhir and controversies!

Marcus Rashford is one of the rising talents in Football. The youngster has already established himself in his international side and the league team. Rashford plays for England and Manchester United respectively. Jasprit Bumrah had recently been in the news in the ODI World Cup 2023 for having an inspired celebration like that of Rashford after claiming a wicket in the game against Afghanistan. 

Meanwhile, Gambhir seems to have landed himself in another controversy. After his recent faceoff against S Sreesanth in the LLC 2023, Gambhir's old video has gone viral on the internet. In the past, Gambhir had claimed captaincy to have a genuine impact on the result of the side, when Virat was unable to win Test matches in England as a captain. However, Gautam claimed Rohit to be a good captain, despite losing the ODI World Cup final in 2023.
