Preity Zinta slams a troll after Glenn Maxwell marriage jibe

On Tuesday, Preity Zinta, co-owner of the Punjab Kings, took to X to respond sharply to a troll who mocked her by suggesting that Glenn Maxwell's underwhelming performance for the team was because she didn’t marry the Australian all-rounder.

Maxwell has played 72 IPL matches for the Punjab Kings, amassing 1,342 runs and taking 17 wickets. During the IPL 2025 mega auction, the Mohali-based franchise acquired him for Rs 4.20 crore.

In the 2025 season, Maxwell featured in seven games under captain Shreyas Iyer, scoring 48 runs and picking up four wickets. However, an injury forced the former MI, DC, and RCB star to exit the tournament a few weeks ago. He was replaced by uncapped Australian batter Mitchell Owen.

Preity Zinta tells a troll who made a marriage jab at her regarding Glenn Maxwell

During a Q&A session on X (formerly Twitter), a fan made a very weird statement to Zinta concerning Glenn Maxwell. In a now deleted post, the fan stated: “Mam Maxwell ki aapse shadi ni Hui isiliye vo aapko team se accha ni khelta tha?"

Zinta took strong offense to the comment and responded by urging the fan to show respect toward women, including herself. She emphasized that all the success and recognition she has achieved is the result of her own hard work over the past 18 years.

“Will you ask this question to the male team owners of all teams, or is this discrimination just towards the women? I never knew how difficult it is for women to survive in corporate setups until I got into cricket. I’m sure you asked this question out of humour, but I hope you can actually look at your question and understand what you are trying to say because if you really understand what you’re trying to say, it’s not pretty! I think I have earned my stripes by working very hard for the past 18 years so please give me the respect I deserve & stop with the gender bias. Thank you,” Zinta posted.
