Once again, India U19 failed to defend their World Cup title. Despite winning the U19 World Cup five times (2000, 2008, 2012, 2018, and 2022), they have never defended the title. Since 2020, the team has reached the final as defending champions twice but lost to Bangladesh (2020) and Australia (2024). Meanwhile, after the U19 World Cup 2024 final, India lost by 79 runs.

After the game, some Pakistani fans could be seen mocking the runners-up of the U19 World Cup 2024. The same was called out by the two-time World Event winner, Irfan Pathan. He took to Twitter and called them jealous. However, some fans in the comments said that they weren't mocking the team but Pathan for his old tweet from 2022.

"Despite their U19 team not making it to the final, keyboard warriors from across the border find pleasure in our youngsters' defeat. This negative attitude reflects poorly on their nation's mindset. #padosi," Irfan posted from his official 'X' handle.

I am proud of the boys: Uday Saharan

During the tournament, India and Australia went without any loss with the Men In Blue winning all their games before the final. On the other hand, Australia's Super Six game against the West Indies was washed out.

"It was a very good tournament. I am very proud of the boys, they all played very well. They all showed great fighting spirit from the start, very proud of them. [On facing Australia's bowling] We played a few rash shots, couldn't spend more time at the crease. We had prepared, but couldn't execute. [Learnings from the tournament] Got to learn a lot from the start to now. From the coaching staff to the games, learned a lot. Now we just need to keep learning more and move ahead."
