Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has shared a strong piece of advice for the under-performing Indian dashing opener Abhishek Sharma, who suffered three consecutive ducks in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2026 campaign.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Bhajji advised Sharma to believe in his abilities, adding that on his day, his bat will speak rightly. Furthermore, he reckoned that the opening batter would get back to his good form against South Africa in the Super 8 round in Ahmedabad on Sunday, February 22.
"When you go through something like this, a lot of things run through your mind. I have a small message for Abhishek. I would advise him to believe in his abilities and this too shall pass. I am sure that the day his bat speaks, it will speak rightly. We are all waiting, and we hope that he comes to form in that big match against South Africa," Harbhajan Singh said on his YouTube channel.
Furthermore, the former spinner advised the opener to take his own time before going for shots, adding that he should leave the midwicket area for a while in the initial overs. Additionally, he reckoned South Africa would bring in an off-spinner straightaway in the first over.
"I would also advise him to leave that midwicket area for a while now, and look to play straight. Once he scores 1-2 runs and then he gets some shots out, then he will get his confidence back, and also his form. South Africa might also look to bring an off-spinner straightaway, but it does not matter. All of this will go away soon," he added.
While Abhishek Sharma started the competition with a golden duck against the USA, he later suffered a four-ball duck against Pakistan. In his third game of the campaign, he bagged a three-ball duck against the Netherlands.
