Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has lashed out at Pakistani cricketers for their controversial gestures during the India vs Pakistan clash in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 campaign on Sunday, September 21, in Dubai.
Speaking on Sports Today, Bhajji has asserted that if talks were to win the match, Pakistan would have won. However, he added that India was way ahead of Pakistan on the field. Moreover, he also slammed the senior Pakistan bowlers Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf.
“If talks were to win the game, I think they would have won. But it was between bat and ball, and I think that’s where India were far, far ahead of Pakistan,” Harbhajan Singh said on Sports Today.
While Afridi conceded 40 runs in his 3.5-over spell, without picking up a wicket, Rauf picked up two wickets, conceding 26 runs in his four-over spell. Bhajji noted that the experienced players should focus on delivering with the bat and ball, instead of only shouting and talking.
“Their senior bowlers like Haris or Shaheen Shah Afridi, they went for plenty. They couldn’t get a single wicket in the first six overs. They are the most experienced players. So if your experienced players are only shouting and talking, and not able to deliver with the ball or bat, you’ll see the results they are getting,” he added.
“Let them talk, we will talk with the bat and ball, and we will answer when required the best,” concluded the Indian spin bowling great,” he concluded.
Moving into the details of the game, Pakistan posted a total of 171/5 in 20 overs. Opening batter Sahibzada Farhan scored a 58-run knock off 45 balls with five fours and three sixes.
In response, India chased down the target in 18.5 overs with six wickets in hand. Opening batters Abhishek Sharma (74) and Shubman Gill (47) were exceptional in the chase. On the other hand, Tilak Varma scored an unbeaten 30-run knock to finish things off for India.
