Harbhajan Singh wants only one change in India’s playing XI for Pakistan clash

Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has stated that the Premadasa Stadium’s surface in Colombo would be a batting friendly wicket in the much-awaited India vs Pakistan marquee clash on Sunday, February 15.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Bhajji has asserted that he would love to see only one change in the Indian playing XI with Abhishek Sharma replacing Sanju Samson. However, he doesn’t want Washington Sundar coming into the XI.

“I’m just seeing Abhishek Sharma coming in place of Sanju Samson. Many people are saying, bring in Washington Sundar. But this pitch is not the kind where you can immediately see the spin from the first ball. I think the best pitch of this entire tournament will be available in this game because no one would want the India-Pakistan match to be anything less than money’s worth. The pitch will be good for batting for all 40 overs, but the ground is big, so we will not see many sixes being hit,” Harbhajan Singh told on his YouTube channel.

Furthermore, the former cricketer reckoned that the Indian team would win the game quite easily against Pakistan if the Indian spinners excel and scalp timely wickets in the middle overs. Moreover, he felt Pakistan’s batting line-up lacks depth.

“Look, our spinners are very strong. Varun is an excellent bowler. Along with him, Axar has great confidence in the way he bowls. The biggest competition will be how the Pakistan team tackles India’s spin. India’s spin is not just about stopping runs; it also takes wickets. Varun Chakaravarthy takes wickets and can win matches for you. Axar also takes wickets and can win matches. I think in this contest, if our spinners perform well, India can win the match very easily because I don’t see the kind of solid batting depth in Pakistan’s lineup,” he added.
