Hashim Amla reveals his all-time ODI XI; Rohit Sharma snubbed

Former South African opening batter Hashim Amla has picked his all-time ODI XI in an exclusive conversation with Shubhankar Mishra in a YouTube podcast. However, Amla decided not to go ahead with Rohit Sharma in the XI. For the unversed, Rohit has accumulated 11370 runs from 276 ODIs at an average of 49.22.

Speaking about his XI, Amla started with Sachin Tendulkar and Adam Gilchrist as his left-right opening pair. While Sachin is the leading run-scorer in ODIs with 18426 runs, Gilchrist amassed 9619 runs from 287 ODIs.

Moving forward, the former South African batter has slotted Virat Kohli at the No.3 slot. Interestingly, he is the lone active player in his XI. Kohli is the second-leading run-scorer in the format, accumulating 14255 runs from 305 ODIs.

Subsequently, he has picked Brian Lara and AB de Villiers at the fourth and fifth batting slots. While Lara accumulated 10405 runs from 299 ODIs, AB de Villiers scored 9577 runs from 228 ODIs.

In the all-rounder slot, Amla has picked Jacques Kallis. MS Dhoni will take up the keeping gloves. Kallis has scored 11579 runs and picked 273 wickets from 328 ODIs, while Dhoni has accumulated 10773 runs from 350 ODIs.

Among spinners, Muralitharan and Warne take up the duties while Wasim Akram and Dale Steyn form the pace battery. Interestingly, Muralitharan is the leading wicket-taker in the format with 534 wickets from 350 ODIs. On the other hand, Warne could scalp 293 wickets from 194 ODIs.

Legendary former Pakistani seamer Wasim Akram pocketed 502 wickets to emerge as the leading wicket-taker among pacers in 356 ODIs, while the former South African pacer Dale Steyn has 196 wickets from 125 ODIs.
