One of the most elegant-looking batters in the current Indian team and across teams in the Indian Premier League, KL Rahul is all set to play for the Delhi Capitals in IPL 2025. 

He has been one of the most consistent players in the tournament playing 132 matches in the league where he has an astonishing average of 45.46 with a strike-rate of 134.60 and has scored 4683 runs. Barring 2023, he has scored more than 500 runs in every season of the tournament in the last seven years.

He has been a part of four IPL teams so far, making his debut for the Royal Challengers Bangalore back in 2013. The Hyderabad team then bought him followed again by Bangalore with Punjab and Lucknow respectively as the next two teams. He played the most number of seasons for Punjab(4), where he scored in excess of 500 in every season.

Apart from being the classy opener, he has been keeping the wickets for the teams he has been playing, making him one of the best wicketkeeper-batters in the league. He has also been the skipper of the team for Punjab Kings as well as Lucknow Super Giants.

Holding such a huge stature, he received a mammoth amount of Rs 17 crores for the 2024 edition of the tournament. He was also the fifth highest earning player of the season being retained by the Lucknow team.

However, for the mega-auctions of IPL 2025, in a surprising move, he was let go from the team management. Going under the hammer after a long time, he was bought by the Delhi Capitals for a hefty amount of Rs 14 crores. This has been said as one of the best steals in this year’s auction.

He is receiving a salary cut of Rs 3 crores which can be accounted as 17.6% of deficit from his previous earning of Rs 17 crores.
