The IPL 2025 season is upon us. The 18th season of the massively popular Indian Premier League (IPL) will begin on March 22, 2025. In India, free IPL broadcasting is being discontinued by Reliance Jio. After providing free access to Indian Premier League (IPL) matches for two years, the telecom behemoth revealed on Monday that viewers will now need to pay to watch them.

Users could watch the matches for free in 2023 and 2024 on the previous JioCinema platform, but this year the firm is switching to a subscription model. With the new strategy, users will have to subscribe after viewing a certain amount of information for free.

No more free IPL live-streaming

For mobile users, the company's new subscription package starts at Rs 299. JioHotstar, the newly established streaming service under the Reliance-Disney joint venture, would allow users to watch IPL matches if they choose this plan.

With its new tariffs, Jio is now including a broadband trial. To grow its home internet business, Jio is offering new customers a 50-day trial of its broadband internet.

There is constant questioning of Mukesh Ambani's cricket content pricing approach. In recent years, the Reliance-Disney joint venture has spent about $10 billion on media rights for the Indian Premier League and other important cricket events.

How to live stream IPL 2025 for this season?

With Jio's announcement of deals for both new and current consumers, everything is now more obvious. Customers may watch the IPL live, which begins on March 22, with simply a Jio SIM and a package of Rs. 299 or more.
