Afghanistan performed brilliantly in the recently concluded ODI World Cup 2023 last month; Hashmatullah Shahidi’s side finished at the sixth spot in the prestigious cricket quadrennial. A huge credit was given to the former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja, who was there in the role of mentor in Afghanistan.
He played a crucial role in Afghanistan’s journey of winning four out of the four 9 matches, they played in the tournament. Meanwhile, Afghanistan’s mentor in the ODI World Cup 2023 and former Indian cricketer, Ajay Jadeja was asked about the question if he wants to coach the Pakistan Cricket Team or not.
"Pakistan were once like Afghanistan." - Ajay Jadeja
Jadeja came up with a witty three-word reply in response to this question which also went viral both on social and mainstream media headlines.
“I am ready,” replied Jadeja during a conversation with Sports Tak on being asked about coaching of Pakistan Cricket Team.
“I shared my learnings with Afghans and I believe Pakistan were once like Afghanistan. You could say wanted to in the face of your teammate,” he added later.
