I have to do it better next time so that my team makes it to the finals next year: Vaibhav Suryavanshi

Rajasthan Royals opening batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi has stated that he would be aiming to give better returns to his franchise and propel them to the grand finale in IPL 2026, with his exceptional batting performances.

Notably, the teenager was roped in by the Rajasthan Royals at the IPL 2025 Mega Auction for the price of INR 1.1 Crore. He went on to score a 35-ball century against the Gujarat Titans at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur in the league stage.

Moreover, the batter from Bihar ended the IPL 2025 season, amassing 252 runs from seven games at an average of 36 and a strike rate of 206.56. The 14-year-old Southpaw smacked 24 sixes and 18 fours in the competition.

“The key learning is that whatever I did this season, I have to do it better next time, not just better, but twice as good, so that my team makes it to the finals next year. I will focus on how I can contribute as much as possible towards that goal,” Suryavanshi said in a video shared on the IPL website.

“Playing in the IPL is like a dream for everyone, and this was my first season. I gained a lot of positives from this first season. Next season, I’ll try to do even more for the team. I also got to learn a lot, so I’ll work on the areas where I fell short this year and try to perform even better next year for the team,” he added.

On the other hand, Vaibhav will be next seen playing against the England U19 side for the India U19 team. They are scheduled to take on England U19 from June 24 in a 50-over warm-up game, followed by five-match Youth ODIs and two Youth First-Class game
