Former Indian cricketer and analyst Mohammad Kaif has asserted that he would put the Indian star pacer Jasprit Bumrah far ahead of the Indian talismanic batter Virat Kohli in terms of match-winners.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Kaif reckoned that Bumrah would comparatively get a lot of money than Kohli because he is once in a once-in-a-generation player. He went on to add that it’s relatively easy to get a replacement for Kohli, but it’s quite tough to get one for Bumrah.

However, Kaif emphasized that Kohli, the brand, would have higher value than any other player in Indian cricket at the moment, adding that Virat Kohli as a brand carries immense value no matter what.

“Among the three, Jasprit Bumrah would get the most money. Bumrah will get a lot of money because a bowler like Bumrah comes once in a generation. The kind of work he does for his team is exceptional. Virat the batter, maybe you can find others like him, but Virat the brand, that continues. Nowadays, Virat the brand carries immense value. See, whichever franchise joins the IPL or buys a team, they come to do business. They have invested money, so they want to earn money. It’s simple. They haven’t come here to do anyone a favor or to groom players, all that is nonsense. They are here to do business,” Kaif said on his YouTube channel.

“So, Virat the brand has huge value because of that, and that’s why franchises want him. Their people would love to have Kohli with them. But if you ask who the biggest match winner is among them, I would put Bumrah far ahead of Virat,” he added.

Virat Kohli has accumulated 8661 runs in 259 IPL innings since 2008, playing for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) franchise. On the other hand, Bumrah made his debut with Mumbai Indians in IPL 2013, scalping 183 wickets from 145 games.
