“India B team could’ve reached the final” - Michael Vaughan hails Rohit Sharma’s Team India for Champions Trophy 2025 triumph

Former England cricketer Michael Vaughan has hailed Team India as the best team in white-ball cricket. Notably, Team India bagged a four-wicket win in the Champions Trophy 2025 final against New Zealand to lift the title for the record third time.

While many ex-cricketers joined the queue to celebrate India’s victory, Michael Vaughan was also heavily impressed by Team India’s win. He took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his thoughts on Men In Blue’s dominance.

“Let’s be honest India is the best team in the world in white ball cricket by a decent margin. Thoroughly deserved to win…T20 holders/Champions trophy holders…Now down to rest to try and catch up," he wrote on X.

Moreover, Vaughan also tweeted, stating that Rohit Sharma and his team would go on to win the title at their new home venue, Dubai International Cricket Ground in Dubai. However, he went on to delete the tweet later.

“India will win at their new home venue,” he wrote and deleted.

In another tweet, Michael Vaughan also discussed India’s talent depth in their white-ball squad, naming its B squad. He added that the Indian B squad also has enough talent to make it to the grand finale.

“[Yashasvi] Jaiswal, [Tilak] Varma, [Abhishek] Sharma, Sky, [Rishabh] Pant, [Nitish Kumar] Reddy, [Washington] Sundar, [Yuzvendra] Chahal, Arsdeep [Singh], [Jasprit] Bumrah & [Ravi] Bisnoi…This team would have made it to the final as well IMO," he wrote in another post on X.

In the grand finale, New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first. The Black Caps went on to post 251/7 in 50 overs. However, India lost six wickets to chase down the target, winning the title by four wickets. While Rohit Sharma (76) was awarded the player of the match if the final, Rachin Ravindra won the player of the tournament award.
