India's second-string cricket team won the gold medal in the Asian Games 2023. The match had no result due to the interruption of rain, and the Men in Blue were handed the gold medal due to a pre-decided rule in the multinational event. They won the gold, considering their higher ranking, and Afghanistan settled for the silver medal. Teams like India, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Pakistan got a bye and played directly in the quarter-final of the game.
In the quarter-final, they defeated Nepal, and after that, in the semis, they beat Bangladesh and qualified for the final. Afghanistan was 112/5 after 18.2 overs when rain stopped the play. Arshdeep Singh and Shivam Dube took one wicket each. Ravi Bishnoi and Shahbaz Ahmed were among the wicket-takers. The match never restarted from that point as the rain jolted down heavily.
After winning the gold, all the players were seen celebrating. Spinner Ravi Bishnoi, along with two pace duo Avesh Khan and Arshdeep Singh, were over the moon after winning the gold medal. In the viral video, they were seen dancing and singing the "83" movie song "Lehra Do". Bishnoi wrote in the caption of the video, 'Unfiltered Emotions'.
