On Wednesday, September 24, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has lodged an official complaint with the International Cricket Council (ICC) against Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan for their provocative gestures in the recent Super Four clash between India and Pakistan.

According to reports on India Today, the ICC hearing is expected to take place if Sahibzada and Rauf deny these allegations in writing. Also, the duo might have to appear before the ICC Elite Panel Referee, Richie Richardson, for a hearing.

To make things more interesting, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also lodged an official complaint with the apex body against the Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav for dedicating the seven-wicket group stage win against Pakistan to the Indian armed forces, calling it a ‘political’ statement.

Delving into the details of the provocative gestures from the Super Four clash on Sunday, September 21, opening batter Sahibzada Farhan came up with an AK-47 celebration after reaching his half-century against India. On the other hand, Haris Rauf was seen responding to the Indian crowd with a fighter jet gesture.

"That celebration was just a moment at that time. I do not do a lot of celebrations after scoring 50. But, it suddenly came to my mind that let's do a celebration today. I did that. I don't know how people will take it. I don't care about that," Farhan had told reporters after the match.

Notably, Pakistan will next face against Bangladesh in the Super Four clash on Thursday, September 25, while India will take on Sri Lanka on Friday, September 26.
