Pakistan has qualified for the Super Four stage after a dominant win over the hosts, the United Arab Emirates, on Wednesday, September 17. They will next lock horns with the Indian team on Sunday, September 21, in Dubai.

Delving into the details of the game between Pakistan and the UAE, the visitors batted first after losing the toss, scoring only 146/9 in 20 overs. The explosive top-order batter Fakhar Zaman went on to score 50 runs in 36 balls with two fours and three sixes.

However, in the death overs, Shaheen Shah Afridi shone again with the willow, scoring a quickfire 14-ball 29-run unbeaten knock with three fours and two sixes. UAE bowlers Junaid Siddique scalped a four-wicket haul while Simranjeet Singh pocketed three wickets.

In reply, the UAE got bundled out for 105 runs in 17.4 overs. Keeper-batter Rahul Chopra was the top scorer, racking up 35 runs in 35 balls with a four and a six. Notably, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Abrar Ahmed scalped two wickets apiece.

For the unversed, there was a lot of drama ahead of the start of the Pakistan vs UAE game. Interestingly, the Pakistani side tried to boycott the game after Indian players denied customary handshakes on Sunday, September 14. Nevertheless, the Pakistan cricket team eventually went ahead with their participation, with a one-hour delay in the affair.

Notably, India continues to lead the Group A standings with one more game left against Oman. On the other hand, Pakistan settled for the second rank with two wins and a defeat.
