The ODI World Cup 2023 will feature a match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium between India and Afghanistan. The team lead by Rohit Sharma will start off as the favourite to win.  India's World Cup campaign got off to a victorious start against the five-time defending champions Australia. Against the Australians, Virat Kohli along with KL Rahul both scored stunning half-centuries, which stole the show.

Today, they want to keep going in the same direction. Once more, Team India will take the pitch without their renowned opener Shubman Gill. The batter will be unable to play his second World Cup game because of his reported dengue infection.

Afghanistan, meanwhile, is eager to get their ODI World Cup 2023 journey off to a fresh start. The Hashmatullah Shahidi-led team lost against Bangladesh by six wickets in their inaugural match.

India is by much the favourite to win this game. Afghanistan has never been defeated by the Men in Blue in an ODI. Although there have been several tight matches between the two sides, Afghanistan has never managed to prevail.

The batters will probably benefit from the pitch in this game. In the most recent game played here, South Africa as well as Sri Lanka combined for over 700 runs. The Proteas, on the other hand, were dismissed for 99 runs by India in the match that came before that at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. As a result, it is challenging to forecast how the pitch is going to respond.

Weather Report : India vs Afghanistan

The bright side for spectators is that there will be almost no possibility of rain throughout the encounter today. The forecast calls for a high of about 36 degrees Celsius in the afternoon and a low of 30 degrees Celsius in the evening.

On the other hand, dew is forecast during the second half. Teams batting first have a better track record of winning games. Although, dew can surely change the context of the game and captains might be interested in batting second.
