India's current Champions Trophy squad and their IPL 2025 salaries

India has unveiled a formidable 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy, scheduled to begin on 19th February 2025. Due to political reasons, the Men in Blue will play all their matches in Dubai as part of the tournament’s hybrid model, avoiding travel to Pakistan.

Interestingly, all 15 players in the squad will feature in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), representing various franchises, with some being retained and others securing massive contracts in the recent mega auction.

Among the big names, Rohit Sharma, retained by Mumbai Indians (MI) for ₹16.50 crore, remains a cornerstone for both his IPL team and the national side. Similarly, the Gujarat Titans (GT) showed unwavering trust in Shubman Gill, retaining their young captain for the same amount despite a forgettable season.

As expected, Virat Kohli continues his journey with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for a staggering ₹21.00 crore. In one of the auction highlights, Punjab Kings (PBKS) acquired Shreyas Iyer, fresh off leading Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to IPL glory last season, for a record ₹26.75 crore. Meanwhile, KL Rahul joined Delhi Capitals (DC) in a ₹14.00 crore deal.

Despite a rough last season, MI retained all-rounder Hardik Pandya for ₹16.35 crore, ensuring the leadership core stays intact. DC doubled down on their core by retaining spin duo Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav for ₹16.50 crore and ₹13.25 crore, respectively. Promising all-rounder Washington Sundar joined GT for a modest ₹3.20 crore.

Wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant became the highest-paid player in IPL history, signing with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for ₹27.00 crore. Rajasthan Royals (RR) retained Yashasvi Jaiswal for ₹18.00 crore, while Chennai Super Kings (CSK) held onto their all-round maestro Ravindra Jadeja.

India’s pace attack sees Jasprit Bumrah earning ₹18.00 crore from MI, Mohammed Shami joining Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for ₹10.00 crore, and Arshdeep Singh reuniting with PBKS in a blockbuster ₹18.00 crore deal.
