IPL 2025: 3 CSK players who didn't get a chance to play

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) had the worst possible season in their IPL history as they finished at the rock bottom in the 2025 edition. In 14 games, they managed only four wins and ended with eight points and a net run rate of -0.647. Players were inconsistent, and injury issues also hampered their balance. Despite that, some players couldn’t get even a single game.

Here are the three CSK players who didn't get a chance to play in IPL 2025:

Kamlesh Nagarkoti

This 25-year-old Indian bowler did not play a single match in the recent IPL season for CSK. Nagarkoti had featured in 12 IPL games between 2020 and 2022 for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Delhi Capitals (DC). Since then, he hasn't appeared in an IPL match. CSK bought him for INR 30 Lakh in the mega auction.

Nagarkoti is regarded as one of the fastest young Indian pacers, regularly clocking speeds above 140kph. Besides his bowling, his fielding skills are also notable. However, injuries have been a major hurdle in his career.

He was part of India’s Under-19 squad for the 2018 World Cup. He made his List A debut for Rajasthan during the 2016–17 Vijay Hazare Trophy and became the first Rajasthan bowler to take a hat-trick in List A cricket.

Shreyas Gopal

This experienced leg-spinner from Karnataka has already played 52 IPL matches and taken 52 wickets. He has represented Mumbai Indians (MI), Rajasthan Royals (RR), and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Before the 2025 season, CSK bought him for INR 30 Lakh in the mega auction.

However, he did not get a single opportunity throughout the season. Given his experience and the spin-friendly conditions at Chepauk, many fans expected him to be in the playing XI. He made his IPL debut for MI in 2014, but his breakthrough season came in 2019 with RR, when he picked up 20 wickets in 14 games at an economy rate of 7.22.

Vansh Bedi

CSK fans were excited to see the franchise spend INR 55 Lakh to acquire Vansh Bedi in the mega auction. This 22-year-old wicketkeeper-batter from Delhi came into the spotlight during the inaugural season of the Delhi Premier League (DPL), where he scored 221 runs in 9 innings at a strike rate of 185 while batting in the middle order.

Unfortunately, he did not get a game in IPL 2025. He also had an unfortunate exit from the tournament after suffering a ligament tear in his left ankle. CSK later replaced him with Urvil Patel.
