IPL 2025: 3 Players to watch out for in CSK vs RCB Match 8

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will cross swords with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the eighth match of the IPL 2025 season at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, on Friday, March 28.

Chennai Super Kings, led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, started off the IPL 2025 season on a winning note, defeating Mumbai Indians by four wickets at their home venue. Though they failed to qualify for the playoffs last season, CSK would be aiming to make it big this time around.

On the other hand, RCB, led by Rajat Patidar, also started their competition on a winning note after defeating the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) quite convincingly. Though they qualified for the playoffs last season, they failed to make it to the grand finale.

Speaking about the head-to-head record between these two sides, CSK and RCB have played a total of 33 IPL games against each other, with RCB winning 11 games, while CSK managed to secure 21 victories.

On that note, let’s take a look at three players to watch out for in the Chennai Super Kings vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru game, Match 8.

3 Players to watch out for in CSK vs RCB Match 8

1. Rachin Ravindra

Rachin Ravindra is the latest batting sensation in the past two years across white ball formats. He was one of the main reasons behind CSK’s victory in the first game of the IPL 2025 season against the Mumbai Indians.

Opening the batting for the CSK franchise, he scored 65* runs in 45 balls with two fours and four sixes at a strike-rate of 144.44 to take his side home. For CSK to make it to the playoffs, Ravindra’s form is very important.

2. Virat Kohli

Former RCB captain Virat Kohli, who also opens the batting with Phil Salt, looked extremely impressive at the crease in the season opener against the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders.

Opening the batting, Kohli went on to score 59* runs in 36 balls with four fours and three sixes. He anchored the chase and played alongside Phil Salt, who smacked 56 runs in 31 balls. He also assisted Captain Patidar, who scored 34 runs in 16 balls.

3. Noor Ahmad

Noor Ahmad is our third player to watch out for in this game between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. With the CSK side playing this game at their home venue, we can expect a lot of spin.

That said, Noor Ahmad played a crucial role in changing the game's complexion against the Mumbai Indians in the team's season opener. He scalped four important wickets to turn the game upside down, and we can expect similar gameplay from him in this affair as well.
