IPL 2025: 3 Players to watch out for in KKR vs LSG Match 21

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will clash against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 21st match of the IPL 2025 season at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Tuesday, April 7.

Led by Shreyas Iyer, Kolkata Knight Riders are at the fourth rank in the standings with two wins and as many losses, picking up four points at an NRR of 0.070.

KKR started off their season with a seven-wicket loss to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Later, they defeated the Rajasthan Royals by eight wickets. In their third game, they suffered an eight-wicket loss to the Mumbai Indians. In their fourth match of the season, KKR defeated SRH by 80 runs.

On the other hand, Rishabh Pant-led Lucknow Super Giants are at the sixth rank with two wins and as many losses, amassing four points at an NRR of 0.048.

They initiated their season with a one-wicket loss to the Delhi Capitals. Later, they bagged a five-wicket win over SRH. In their third game, they suffered an eight-wicket loss to PBKS. Subsequently, they defeated KKR by 12 runs.

A total of five matches have been played between these two sides in the IPL so far. While the Kolkata Knight Riders won two games, the Lucknow Super Giants bagged three wins.

1. Nicholas Pooran

Lucknow Super Giants top-order batter Nicholas Pooran is currently the leading run-scorer with 201 runs from four innings at an average of 50.25 and a strike rate of 218.47 with two fifty-plus scores.

Though he started off with scores of 75, 70, and 44 against DC, SRH, and PBKS, respectively, he could score only 12 runs against the Mumbai Indians in the team's fourth contest of the season. Barring the last game, Pooran has been a consistent customer.

2. Mitchell Marsh

On the other hand, Pooran’s colleague at the LSG, Mitchell Marsh, is the second-leading run-scorer for the Lucknow-based franchise, accumulating 184 runs from four innings at an average of 46 with three fifty-plus totals.

Marsh started off the IPL 2025 season with a 72-run knock against the Capitals. Later, he scored 52 runs against SRH in the team's second game. However, he suffered a duck against PBKS. In the fourth game, he scored another fifty against the Mumbai Indians.

3. Sunil Narine

Sunil Narine, the KKR opening batter and all-rounder, is our third player to watch out for between the Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants. He scored 51 runs from three innings and scalped two wickets with the ball.

He started the season with a 44-run knock against RCB, scalping one wicket. Later, he bagged a duck against MI, without scalping a wicket with the ball. In the third game, he scored seven runs, picking up one wicket vs SRH.
