IPL 2025: 3 Players to Watch Out for in PBKS vs RCB Match 37

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) lost their last game against Punjab Kings (PBKS) by five wickets in the ongoing IPL 2025 at Chinnaswamy. It was a humiliating batting performance from RCB, and still, they are yet to win a single game at home this season. Now, they will have a chance for revenge when the two teams meet again in Mullanpur on 20 April.

Several players from both camps will play crucial roles in deciding the result for their respective sides, especially the players who are in good form in the last few games. RCB are currently placed fourth with eight points and a net run rate of +0.446 in seven games, while PBKS are second with 10 points in seven games with a net run rate of +0.308.

A win in this game would help PBKS to strengthen their position in the race for the playoffs and also in the race for the top two spots. But a loss in this game would make the road to the playoffs difficult for RCB going forward.

3 Players to Watch Out for in the PBKS vs RCB Match 37

1. Nehal Wadhera

Nehal Wadhera played an unbeaten knock of 33 off 19 balls against RCB to seal the win in their last meeting. In the rain-curtailed 14-over match, while chasing 96, Wadhera batted at a strike rate of 173.68 and guided his team to victory. This season, he has played several such quality knocks.

He has scored 184 runs in six innings at an average of 46.00 and a strike rate of 149.59, including one half-century. He has shown immense maturity, and the way he has handled pressure while batting at various batting positions has been commendable.

2. Tim David

One of the most consistent players this season for RCB has been Tim David. His performances in the lower order and his execution of the finisher’s role have pleased RCB fans. Though he has scored only 142 runs in seven matches, those came at a strike rate of 194.52 and an average of 142.00.

In the last game against PBKS, he smashed an unbeaten 50 off 26 balls, while other top-order batters struggled to find timing. He was awarded the Player of the Match despite his team’s loss. It was only for him, RCB reached that 95-run mark. Otherwise, things could have been worse for the home side in front of their home crowd.

3. Yuzvendra Chahal

Yuzvendra Chahal had a strong outing against his former side, RCB, in the last match. He took two wickets for 11 runs in three overs, maintaining an economy of 3.66. After picking up just two wickets in his first five games, he has now claimed six wickets in the last two.

Chahal is known for this consistency as he has been a consistent performer in this tournament over the years. He is expected to perform well once again against Rajat Patidar’s team in front of the home crowd in Mullanpur.
