IPL 2025: 3 Reasons why RCB will win the title

The 18th IPL season is ongoing, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are still chasing their maiden IPL title. Over all these years, top cricketing stars from around the world have represented this franchise. Despite continuous disappointments, fans continue to show up in huge numbers, passionately supporting their team.

For those loyal fans, it’s high time RCB put an end to their title drought by winning the championship this season. RCB have started the season on a high, registering wins over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Chennai, Mumbai Indians (MI) in Mumbai, and the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Kolkata.

With six points and a net run rate of +1.015, RCB currently sit in third place. Their next clash is against Delhi Capitals (DC) in Bengaluru on 10 April.

Here are the three reasons why RCB will win the IPL 2025 title

Rajat Patidar’s batting along with his captaincy

When Rajat Patidar was announced as the new RCB skipper ahead of this season, there were some concerns about whether the added responsibility would affect his batting. But so far, he has handled both roles pretty well.

The way he has been batting—especially in matches against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Chennai and Mumbai Indians (MI) in Mumbai—has been impressive. As for his captaincy, he has made some smart bowling changes and field placements in crucial situations, which have proved to be fruitful for RCB so far.

Consistent batting line-up with Tim David and Jitesh Sharma at the finisher role

In three out of the four matches so far, the entire batting unit has clicked. Be it Virat Kohli and Phil Salt at the top, followed by Devdutt Padikkal, Rajat Patidar, and Liam Livingstone—two or three batters have stepped up and delivered in every match.

The best part has been the lower-order power-hitting cameos from Tim David and wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma. The way both Tim and Jitesh batted against MI in Mumbai took the game away from them completely, as those extra runs at the end proved costly.

Strong and in-form pace bowling unit

Spin is a department where RCB lack firepower. However, with seven wickets to his name, Krunal Pandya has been a great support to the RCB pacers, who have performed consistently well.

In particular, both Yash Dayal (five wickets) and Josh Hazlewood (eight wickets) have been impressive—even on flat decks where top-quality, experienced bowlers have struggled to be economical and pick up wickets.
