IPL 2025: 3 Top signings by Rajasthan Royals (RR)

Rajasthan Royals had a poor IPL 2025 season, finishing in the ninth rank with four wins and 10 losses, amassing eight points. Interestingly, they could win only two games in their first half of the season, which hampered their chances of moving forward.

In the second half of the season, they bagged another two victories, suffering multiple close defeats despite having single-digit targets in the last over. While there were many exceptional performers among retentions, there are three Mega Auction signings that did for the franchise.

On that note, let’s take a look at the three top signings by the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction.

3 Top signings by Rajasthan Royals (RR) in IPL 2025:

1. Vaibhav Suryavanshi

Bihar top-order batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi emerged as the youngest to earn an IPL deal after he was picked by the Rajasthan Royals franchise for INR 1.1 Crore at the IPL 2025 Mega Auction at the age of 13.

While he didn't get to play in the first half of the season, he came in as an opener for the second half, scoring 252 runs in seven innings at an average of 36 and a strike rate of 206.55 with one century and a fifty. His best innings came when he scored 101 against the Titans.

2. Wanindu Hasaranga

The former RCB spin bowling all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga was roped in by the Rajasthan Royals for the price of INR 5.25 Crore at the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. Though he failed to live up to the expectations with the willow, he had a decent time with the ball in hand.

Shifting our focus to his numbers in IPL 2025, Hasaranga scalped 11 wickets from 11 games at an economy of 9.04 with his best figures being 4/35 against the Chennai Super Kings. Prior to this, he was part of the RCB set-up for three seasons, scalping 35 wickets in 26 games.

3. Maheesh Theekshana

Another Sri Lankan spinner, Maheesh Theekshana, was roped in by the Rajasthan Royals franchise at the price of INR 4.4 Crore at the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. Prior to this, he was part of the Chennai Super Kings set-up.

Delving into the details of his stats in IPL 2025, he scalped 11 wickets from 11 innings at an average of 37.27 and an economy of 9.76 with the best figures of 2/26 against the table toppers, Punjab Kings.
