IPL 2025: 3 Top signings by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)

Led by Pat Cummins, Sunrisers Hyderabad ended their season with a league stage finish. The IPL 2024 runners-up had a nightmarish season in IPL 2025 as they failed to create a significant impact at home and away.

While Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, and Heinrich Klaasen were exceptional in the previous season, they were a bit inconsistent this season. Moreover, bowlers like Mohammed Shami failed to live up to expectations.

While they had some notable players who failed to create an impact, some other players had an exceptional season despite the team’s poor performance. On that note, let’s take a look at the three top signings by the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) franchise at the IPL 2025 Mega Auction.

3 Top signings by Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2025

1. Eshan Malinga

Eshan Malinga was part of the XI for seven games, scalping 13 wickets at an average of 18.3 and an economy of 8.92, with his best bowling figures being 3/31 against the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders.

Entering the mega auction at the base price of INR 30 Lakh, the Rajasthan Royals and Hyderabad franchises outbid each other. Eventually, SRH roped in his services for the price of INR 1.2 Crore.

2. Aniket Verma

The SRH middle-order Aniket Verma played 12 innings, accumulating 236 runs at an average of 26.22 and a strike rate of 166.19. His highest score of the season of 74 runs, came against the Delhi Capitals.

Interestingly, IPL 2025 was the debut season for Aniket as he was roped in by the franchise for the base price of INR 30 Lakh at the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. Known for his fearless batting approach, Aniket created a name for himself this season.

3. Harshal Patel

SRH medium pacer Harshal Patel was another star player for the franchise, scalping 16 wickets from 13 innings at an average of 26.87 and an economy of 9.8, with his best bowling figures being 4/28 against the Chennai Super Kings.

Harshal, who was part of the PBKS set-up in IPL 2024 season, was roped in by the SRH franchise for a whopping price of INR 8 Crore at the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. He scalped 24 wickets for PBKS in IPL 2024.
