IPL 2025: BCCI to finalize the best possible resumption schedule on May 11

The IPL governing council and the BCCI officials are expected to discuss the IPL 2025 resumption schedule on Sunday, May 11, as per the BCCI vice president Rajeev Shukla’s statement on Saturday, May 10.

Notably, the IPL 2025 season came to a halt due to the cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan. The match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals had to be suspended in between due to the escalations between both countries.

"The war has stopped. In the new situation, BCCI office bearers, officials and IPL Governing Council, will discuss the matter tomorrow (Sunday) and take a call. We will see which can be the best schedule to complete the tournament," Shukla told PTI Videos.

Moreover, according to reports, the league could resume, moving to the Southern Indian cities like Chennai, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru. However, BCCI would opt for those cities only when there is continued military conflict.

"That was an option when war was going on. There are many options which have been discussed. The ceasefire has just been announced, give some time to us, we will discuss and then only a decision will be taken," Shukla added.

Notably, a total of 12 league matches and four playoff games are yet to be played in the competition. An IPL source stated that the broadcast and production teams were asked to stay put in all original venues.

"The broadcasters had initially asked its production unit to stay back in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai only when the military crisis was deepening. But after the announcement of ceasefire, the crew has been instructed to stay put in all the original venues.

"So there is a chance that the Dharamsala game, which could be rescheduled elsewhere, venues like Kolkata might retain their matches," the source said.
