IPL 2025: Full list of matches at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati

Rajasthan Royals (RR) will once again look to make an impact in IPL 2025 while continuing their commitment to promoting cricket in the Northeast. Over the last two seasons, RR has treated Guwahati’s Barsapara Cricket Stadium as their second home, playing two matches each season. 

However, their record at the venue hasn’t been the best, with just one win, two losses, and one match abandoned due to rain. Barsapara Cricket Stadium, also known as ACA Stadium, is the largest cricket venue in Northeast India, equipped with modern architecture and top-class facilities. 

RR’s focus has been on strengthening grassroots cricket in Assam and across the country, making their presence in Guwahati even more meaningful. In the upcoming season, RR will once again play two matches in Guwahati. 

They will face defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on 26 March, followed by a high-profile clash against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on 30 March. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM IST. Interestingly, in IPL 2024, RR was set to host KKR at this very venue, but the match was abandoned due to rain after the toss.

In the last season, RR faced Punjab Kings (PBKS) at this venue, where they struggled while batting first and managed only 144/9. RR eventually lost the match, and after the game, skipper Sanju Samson expressed his disappointment with the pitch conditions during the post-match presentation.

"We were expecting a better wicket if I'm being honest. I don't think it's a 140 wicket, but maybe 160 or 170 with the power and batting we have," Samson said.

He further added, "We're not used to playing on these kinds of wickets in this season when teams have been scoring 200 or 220. We had to play smart cricket and focus on the basics and build momentum, trying to get boundaries here and there."

With two more matches scheduled in Guwahati for IPL 2025, RR will be hoping for better playing conditions and an improved performance at their second home. Given their mixed record in Guwahati, RR will be keen to improve their performance at the venue, especially since these matches count as home fixtures. 

Dominating home games is crucial for any team, not just to delight the fans but also to strengthen their path to the playoffs.
