IPL 2025: Predicting starting four overseas players of RR

Rajasthan Royals have been putting up a great show in the last few years, starting the seasons with dominating performances. However, they were not able to finish the season with the same intensity which ultimately led them to not being able to lift the trophy.

1. Shimron Hetmyer

2. Jofra Archer

The pacer who might be one of the deadliest pacers around the world currently, Jofra Archer returns to Rajasthan Royals after quite some time. The pacer has been out of competitive cricket for a long while now due to his injuries and was sorted to Mumbai Indians in the last few years but could not impact much with few games in his kitty.

Archer had also won Most Valuable Player of the Tournament while playing for Rajasthan Royals. He has amassed 48 wickets with an economy of 7.43 and has smoked bowlers for 199 runs at a strike rate of 155.46 coming down the order while playing 40 games in the league.

3. Wanindu Hasaranga

Hasaranga has been bought by the Rajasthan franchise for an amount of Rs 5.25 crores in the mega auctions ahead of IPL 2025. He has been one of the most successful players from the Sri Lankan team in the last few years and contributes with the bat as well as the ball.

Injuries have kept him away from action in the Indian Premier League for a while now. He has played a total of 212 matches in his T20 career where he made 2349 runs and picked up 305 wickets. He had a season to remember while playing for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2022 where he picked up 26 wickets in just 16 games.

4. Maheesh Theekshana

Another Sri Lankan talent on the rise, Maheesh Theekshana has been doing a terrific job for his nation. The right-arm off-break bowler has been spinning the web so well that he has been confusing the batters and ultimately getting them out. He was bought by a whopping amount of Rs 4.4 crores by the team in the mega auctions.

He has been able to take away 192 wickets with a mere economy of 6.77 in the 184 matches he has played in his T20 career so far. He can also swing his bat down the order, having scored valuable 214 runs. Keeping the team’s balance in mind, he just very well might get the chance in the starting XI of the team.
