IPL 2025: Teams with batting strike rates in powerplay overs ranked from best to worst

With multiple teams displaying remarkable batting depth and aggression, the IPL 2025 season has been an exciting exhibition of power hitting. Players have adopted creative strategies to optimize scoring chances, and the emphasis on high strike rates has become a defining characteristic.

In addition to providing viewers with entertainment, this combative approach has changed the tactics used throughout the competition.

The teams with the highest strike rates have set the tone for the season, from dominating the power play to finishing with a flourish in the final overs. Their ability to keep up constant scoring pressure has frequently made the difference between winning and losing.

IPL 2025 is a cricketing spectacle that will never be forgotten because of this bold strategy. Today we see the teams with the best strike rates in IPL 2025 powerplay overs and the worst teams as well.

Check out the teams with the best and worst strike rates in IPL 2025 powerplays:

The Rajasthan Royals (170.56), Lucknow Super Giants (163.33), and Punjab Kings (163.19) are the teams in IPL 2025 with the best strike rates in the powerplay overs. RR were buoyed with Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Riyan Parag going after the bowlers in the first 6 overs. For LSG, it has been Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran going hammer and tongs, while for PBKS, Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh are conditioned to take on the bowlers early on.

In the middle part, you have Royal Challengers Bengaluru (159.44), Sunrisers Hyderabad (152.22), Kolkata Knight Riders (146.11), and Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians (both 144.44) in the powerplay overs strike rates in the IPL 2025.

RCB has Virat Kohli and Phil Salt going after the bowling with assistance from ball one. While SRH is on a losing streak, Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, and Ishan Kishan’s aggression is worth noting. Kolkata Knight Riders has Sunil Narine, Ajinkya Rahane, and Quinton de Kock doing the job.

Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill for the Gujarat Titans and Ryan Rickelton and Tilak Varma for the Mumbai Indians are doing a very good job at the top, taking on bowlers in the first six overs to maximize the scoring.

Coming to the two worst teams, Delhi Capitals (129.83) and Chennai Super Kings (116.82) have not clicked with their openers at the top. Jake Fraser-McGurk and Faf du Plessis have not gotten going in powerplay overs, and then comes KL Rahul, who is not known for scoring quickly.

And Chennai is just floundering in all departments, be it bowling, batting, or fielding. CSK’s openers, Rahul Tripathi, Rachin Ravindra, and Devon Conway, have just not scored the runs required in the first six overs to lay a good foundation for the rest of the batters. CSK has been conservative in its approach, hampering its growth.

Here are the teams with batting strike rates in IPL 2025 powerplay overs ranked from best to worst:
