The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will be captained by Pat Cummins in the IPL 2025 season. Cummins, the Australian ODI and Test captain, was made the leader of the Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise ahead of the IPL 2024 season.
SRH, who won the IPL title in 2016, had not performed for the past 2-3 IPL seasons since the departure of David Warner and Kane Williamson. They tried Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Manish Pandey, and Aiden Markram as captain of the franchise.

SRH also bought Mohammad Shami to replace Bhuvneshwar Kumar as the lead of their pace attack. To plug their spinners issue, SRH invested in Rahul Chahar, Adam Zampa, and Kamindu Mendis. Harshal Patel might become a vital cog in the SRH bowling unit as he was bought for INR 8 crores.
