With a total purse of INR 16.05 crore, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) entered the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 mini-auction. They had a few crucial openings to fill after releasing Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana before the auction.
Last month, Rajasthan gained notoriety when they dealt Sanju Samson, their long-time captain, to the Chennai Super Kings. Sam Curran and Ravindra Jadeja, two seasoned all-rounders, joined the team in an attempt to strengthen and stabilise it.
In addition to making these adjustments, the Royals have retained their core batting unit, which includes 14-year-old wonder Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Dhruv Jurel, and Yashasvi Jaiswal, ensuring a pleasing blend of youth and experience.
RR signed Ravi Bishnoi as Jadeja's spin partner right away. India spinner Ravi Bishnoi sparked a bidding war at the IPL 2026 mini-auction, with the leg spinner signing for Rajasthan Royals for Rs 7.20 crore. After competing with SRH and CSK for Bishnoi's services, RR won the contract while the 2016 winners withdrew their bid of Rs 7 crore.
They later concentrated on acquiring young Indian players without caps. The RR added a few players to their lineup in their search for a middle-order batsman, and it already looks solid.
Three uncapped Indians, Sushant Mishra (Rs 90 lakh), Yash Raj Punja (Rs 30 lakh), and Vignesh Puthur (Rs 30 lakh), were also acquired by the 2008 champions. These fresh additions amply demonstrate the team's approach of investing in emerging domestic talent. Adam Milne, a pacer from New Zealand, filled the overseas position.
Ravi Singh is expected to assist the team in both batting and wicketkeeping, while Sushant, Yash Punja, and Puthur are useful additions to the bowling department, particularly in spin. If given the opportunity to play, Aman Rao is also anticipated to contribute significantly to the team. By signing Kuldeep Sen, they brought the 2026 auction's adventures to a close.
