The IPL 2025 season for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) was a letdown; they missed the playoffs and finished ninth in the standings. A number of players displayed promise and put up significant performances in spite of the team's general difficulties. To adequately compensate these important contributors, RR should reevaluate their compensation structure ahead of the IPL 2026 retentions.
Players who perform consistently and contribute versatility should be fairly compensated in a highly competitive competition. Rebuilding and fortifying the squad for future success requires identifying and keeping such talent.
Here are 3 RR players who should receive a better pay in IPL 2026:
1. Vaibhav Suryavanshi
One of RR's most promising new players was 14-year-old top-order batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi. In 8 innings, he amassed 252 runs with a remarkable 206.55 strike rate. He became the youngest Indian and the youngest person to make a century in both the T20 and IPL. In the IPL tournament, he also scored the fastest century off 35 balls by an Indian.
Suryavanshi was an excellent steal for his output, having just cost ₹1.10 Crore to sign. He seems prepared for a larger role—and a larger salary—based on his persistent hostility and self-assurance under duress. He gave RR batting a new breath of life and RR will not want him to go away.
2. Nitish Rana
Nitish Rana, who was brought in as a middle-order stabilizer, performed admirably, scoring 217 runs in 11 games prior to injury. He had a strike rate of 161.94 and hit two fifties. Overs in the middle were aided by Rana's occasional off-spin.
Rana provided tactical depth, leadership, and experience for a player making ₹4.2 crore. It would be just to give him a raise in recognition of his overall contributions to RR's stability and balance.
3. Maheesh Theekshana
With an economy rate of just 9.76 and 11 wickets in 11 games, the Sri Lankan spinner was RR's go-to guy during the powerplay. His ability to choke the top order and transfer momentum to RR was underestimated, and his best was 2/26.
Theekshana, who was purchased for ₹4.40 crore, was essential to RR's bowling strategy because of his control and versatility. His increasing consistency as a T20 specialist and his crucial contribution to the team's strategy would be reflected in his updated salary.
