IPL: Predicting DC strongest playing XI

Delhi Capitals (DC) made significant strides in assembling a formidable squad during the mega auction. Before heading to the IPL auction, the Capitals decided not to retain Rishabh Pant and chose to go with Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Tristan Stubbs, and Abhishek Porel.

During the IPL 2025 Auction, the franchise made some exciting moves at the auction table and managed to make some high-profile signings, including KL Rahul, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Mitchell Starc, and T. Natarajan. The finalists of the 2020 season will be looking to make an impact this season and play some competitive cricket.

KL Rahul and Jake Fraser-McGurk might be the number one opening pair choice for the franchise. Last season, Fraser-McGurk showed why he can currently be rated as one of the best young talents in world cricket. Rahul played a crucial role in India winning the Champions Trophy and can bat at any position. 

Harry Brook has pulled out of this season, which enhances the chances of Faf du Plessis making it into the playing 11. It will be interesting to see how the Capitals camp managed to utilize du Plessis this season. 

In the middle order, Abhishek Porel is expected to take the number three spot, providing a left-handed option. He will be followed by the aggressive duo of Tristan Stubbs and Donovan Ferreira at four and five, respectively, adding depth and firepower to the batting lineup.

For the lower middle order, DC can rely on Ashutosh Sharma, who has shown promise as a finisher, alongside all-rounder Axar Patel, who can bat flexibly depending on the match situation.

On the bowling front, DC boasts a strong attack with Mitchell Starc, Kuldeep Yadav, T. Natarajan, and Mukesh Kumar. Starc will spearhead the pace attack, while T. Natarajan and Mukesh Kumar excel in death overs. Kuldeep and Axar are expected to provide crucial spin options during the middle overs.
