IPL: Predicting MI strongest playing XI

The Mumbai Indians (MI) have not played well in the last four seasons of the Indian Premier League, but fans are hoping for a better performance in IPL 2025. They want the team to play exciting cricket and win another trophy.

MI will start their IPL 2025 journey against their biggest rivals, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), on March 23 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Rohit Sharma has struggled with his batting in the last two seasons, but this year he will aim to make a strong comeback. He is expected to open the innings with South African player Ryan Rickelton, who had a key role in helping MI Cape Town win the SA20 League in 2024-25 and has been performing well for South Africa recently.

Naman Dhir is known for his aggressive batting and will bat at number three, looking to take charge against the bowlers. Suryakumar Yadav had a tough time in IPL 2024, but he will try to bounce back and score heavily this season. Tilak Varma is one of the five players MI decided to keep, and he will need to show that the team made the right choice by performing well.

Hardik Pandya needs to lead the team effectively after not making a big impact last season. New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner joined MI during the IPL 2025 auction in Jeddah and will help strengthen the team's spin bowling. Deepak Chahar did not perform well for Chennai in the last three seasons, but he will be looking to make a difference in MI colors this time.

The strong bowling pair of Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult will be back together for MI after four years. They were key players in 2020 when MI won their fifth trophy, and they will aim to recreate that success. Afghanistan's Mujeeb Ur Rahman will support Santner in the spin department.

Karn Sharma might come into the playing XI as an impact player, replacing Tilak Varma. His addition will add variety to MI's spin bowling.

Here is the strongest playing 11 of Mumbai Indians for IPL 2025:

Rohit Sharma, Ryan Rickelton, Naman Dhir, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, Mitchell Santner, Deepak Chahar, Jasprit Bumrah,Trent Boul, Mujeeb Ur Rahman.
