Glenn Maxwell and former Indian opener Virender Sehwag have long shared an undertone of competitive enmity, a strain that has occasionally erupted either through a tell-all or from a third party on the internet. Maxwell described the deterioration of his connection with Sehwag during their time together for the Punjab Kings in the 2017 Indian Premier League back in late 2024.

In a recent podcast, well-known Indian cricket pundit Padamjeet Sehrawat recounted an untold tale involving the two dynamic cricket players around a year later. In a recent podcast, the Indian commentator called Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell "arrogant."

Apart from recalling a personal incident, Sehrawat also shed light on an ugly, unheard exchange involving Maxwell as well as former Indian cricketer and ex-Punjab Kings head coach Virender Sehwag, from the time the two shared the same camp at the franchise, likely during the 2017 edition of the tournament.

While speaking on an Aajtak podcast, the commentator revealed that while batting in the nets, Glenn Maxwell abused a nets bowler with a slur. Head coach Sehwag was offended by Maxwell's comments, so he called the entire Punjab Kings team together and made the Australian player personally apologise to the bowler.

Padamjeet Sehrawat said, “There was a bowler in Punjab Kings, whom Glenn Maxwell had insulted. Coach Virender Sehwag instantly brought everyone together and forced Maxwell to apologize, to which he did.”

Glenn Maxwell also shared his perspective on his tense friendship with Virender Sehwag back in late 2024. In his new book, the iconic Australian cricketer said that he was dropped from the team’s WhatsApp group, and coach Sehwag had called him a “big disappointment” when Punjab Kings failed to make it to the playoffs. The resurfacing of these reports once again emphasises the long-standing antagonism between Maxwell and Sehwag, bringing fresh insight into a stormy era of their IPL collaboration.
