Kolkata Knight Riders begin their title defence against Royal Challengers Bengaluru from March 22 onwards as Eden Gardens in Kolkata will host the tournament's opening game. Kolkata has also been awarded the final and a playoff game, while Hyderabad will witness the other two playoff matches.

The tournament stretches for 65 days with 74 matches in the pipeline as 13 venues will host some of the greatest cricketing stars in 10 teams. Franchises appoint cheerleaders in IPL and pay them for their services. According to reports, a cheerleader earns around Rs 15,000 to Rs 17,000 per match for their work. Moreover, they also get additional benefits like accommodation, food and travel by the franchise. 

Different franchises also pay their cheerleaders differently. Reports suggest that Kolkata Knight Riders pay their cheerleaders the most - Rs 25,000 per game - for their services. Two famous franchises - Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru also splurge a handsome amount of the cheerleaders - giving them Rs 20,000 each for a game, as per reports. Also, Chennai Super Kings spend around rs 17,000 on a cheerleader for every match in the Indian cash-rich league. 

Cheering for the players in an IPL game for long hours after every boundary or a six is a tedious task. Add on, they have to dance with all smiles in the scorching heat in India. This is not an easy task by any means. This requires great fitness and passion to do the job.
