Ex-India all-rounder Irfan Pathan celebrated his 8th marriage anniversary yesterday on Saturday, February 3. On this occasion, Pathan came up with a heartfelt note for his wife Safa Baig. Notably, he has faced a lot of criticism for hiding his wife’s face whenever he shared photos with her across all social media platforms.
“Infinite roles mastered by one soul - mood booster, comedian, troublemaker, and the constant companion, friend, and mother of my children. In this beautiful journey, I cherish you as my wife. Happy 8th my love,” wrote Pathan in a post from his official X-handle (formerly Twitter).
In this X-post, Pathan also added a picture with his wife; notably, it’s also the first time when Pathan revealed his wife’s face in any social media post.

Speaking of cricket, Irfan Pathan was recently in the headlines after he came up with support for Indian batters Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer. Irfan Pathan’s statement came at a time when both batters have been facing criticism for their poor run of form in the ongoing five-match Test series against England.
“A senior player like Virat Kohli's absence is a massive factor. Over that KL Rahul is also injured. So, the team management has plenty to think about. They need to think whether to give a chance to a new player straight away or wait a bit,” Pathan was quoted as saying by PTI.
“There is no doubt that these two boys (Gill and Iyer) haven't performed for quite some time now but it is not that they have never performed,” he added later.
England are currently leading the five-match Test series by a margin of 1-0 after a 28-run win in the first Test in Hyderabad. Both teams are currently in action in the ongoing second Test in Vishakhapatnam.
