'It is disturbing...' - Sachin Tendulkar lashes out at deepfake video which claims him and daughter Sara Tendulkar endorsing money-making app

Former legendary Indian cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar vented out his anger over a fake video which claimed his daughter Sara Tendulkar earning money from online video games or an online money-making app. The former legendary batter didn’t hold it back and came up with a very hard response in his recent post from his official X handle (formerly Twitter).

Master Blaster also asked the concerned social media platforms and other authorities to take swift action in the same regard to stop the misinformation and spread of fake news in the social media circle.

“These videos are fake. It is disturbing to see rampant misuse of technology. Request everyone to report videos, ads & apps like these in large numbers,” wrote Sachin in his X-post.

“Social Media platforms need to be alert and responsive to complaints. Swift action from their end is crucial to stopping the spread of misinformation and deepfakes,” he added later.

However, similar sort of incidents also happened in the past with Sachin Tendulkar’s daughter Sara Tendulkar when the deepfake videos showing her went viral on social media.

“Social media is a wonderful space for all of us to share our joys, sorrows and daily activities. However, it is disconcerting to see the misuse of technology as it takes away from the truth and authenticity of the internet. I have come across some deepfake photos of me which are far from reality,” wrote Sara on her Instagram handle.

“A few accounts on X (formerly Twitter) have been created with the intent to impersonate me and mislead people. I do not have an account on X, and I hope X looks into such accounts and suspends them,” she added later while making a request to X to take immediate action in the same regard.
