Star Pakistan opening batter Imam-ul-Haq found himself on the receiving end of some brutal trolling remarks from the cricket fans after one of his recent statements. It all started when Imam made a ‘we’ve to eat more proteins instead of carbs’ statement during the pre-match press conference before the match against Afghanistan.

“Maybe we want to eat more proteins and not that much carbs, but it is just that there is nothing we want to talk about. It is just we really do not feel it if we are not hitting six or not four, it is just that what are we doing for the team,” said Imam-ul-Haq during the pre-match press conference.

Immediately after this statement, Imam fell prey to the harsh trolling both from Indian and Pakistan cricket fans.

Notably, he has not been in good touch with the bat so far in the ODI World Cup 2023 except for his run-a-ball knock of 70 runs in the last match against Australia. Now, he will be in action for Pakistan in their all-important clash against Afghanistan at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Babar Azam’s men have won two matches in the four matches they played so far in the tournament, including two defeats against arch-rivals, India and the five-time World Cup champions, Australia.

The men in green faced a lot of criticism for their poor performance in the last match against Australia as David Warner and Mitchell Marsh smashed 259 runs for the first wicket. The duo smashed shots on Pakistan bowlers throughout all the corners in the ground.

Coming back to Imam-ul-Haq, he has also been on the receiving end of criticism from the cricket experts for his poor batting form and poor approach in the ongoing prestigious cricket quadrennial so far.

Here’s how fans reacted to Imam-ul-Haq’s statement:
