JioHotstar subscription plans explained: Pricing, features and all details you need to know

JioHotstar, a collaboration between Reliance and Disney, has officially launched, combining the content libraries of JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar. This new streaming service aims to compete with major players like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video by offering a diverse range of content.

Content Offerings

The revamped platform features a wide array of sports, including the Indian Premier League (IPL), International Cricket Council (ICC) tournaments, and English Premier League football. Additionally, users can enjoy content from renowned international studios such as Disney, Warner Bros., HBO, NBCUniversal Peacock, and Paramount.

Transition from Disney+ Hotstar

The Disney+ Hotstar app has been rebranded as JioHotstar. Users with the JioCinema app will see a prompt to "Watch on JioHotstar," which will redirect them to the new app for seamless viewing. The JioCinema app will eventually be discontinued.

Subscription Plans and Pricing

JioHotstar offers several subscription plans to cater to different viewing preferences:

1. Mobile Plan

   - Price: Rs 149 for 3 months or Rs 499 per year.

   - Features: Mobile-only access, ad-supported, unlimited live sports, latest Indian movies & shows, Disney+ Originals.

   - Devices: 1 mobile device.

2. Super Plan

   - Price: Rs 299 for 3 months or Rs 899 per year.

   - Features: Two-device access, ad-supported, unlimited live sports, latest Indian movies & shows, Disney+ Originals.

   - Devices: 2 devices (Mobile, Web, Living Room).

3. Premium Plan

   - Price: Rs 299 per month, Rs 499 for 3 months, or Rs 1499 per year.

   - Features: Four-device access, ad-free (except live content), unlimited live sports, latest Indian movies & shows, Disney+ Originals in English & select Indian languages.

   - Devices: 4 devices (Mobile, Web, Living Room).

Transition for Existing Subscribers

Current subscribers of JioCinema Premium will be upgraded to JioHotstar Premium for the remainder of their subscription. Disney+ Hotstar subscribers can keep their existing plans for three months at current rates. After this period, they will need to choose new JioHotstar plans.
