South Africa pacer Kagiso Rabada has stated that he won’t apologize any more after serving a ban for recreational drug use and he is done saying sorry. Everyone is keeping an eye on Kagiso Rabada as the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025 final approaches, particularly because of his handling of the fallout from his suspension.
The famous fast bowler Kagiso Rabada will encounter several obstacles at Lord's as he travels to London, the site of the WTC Final 2025 between Australia and South Africa.
Rabada is committed to making progress and acting responsibly. He acknowledged that since his drug-related suspension, things haven't been going well. Rabada stated he had already spoken to his teammates and would speak with them further once they are all together as he gets set to rejoin the South African squad for the WTC Final 2025.
“Look, this is not an ideal situation. I don't need too many pats on the back here. I'm going to be joining them again. I've already spoken to them, and I guess we can do so in more detail when we get together for an extended amount of time,” Rabada told ESPNCricinfo.
The WTC 2025 final between South Africa and Australia will be played at Lord’s from June 11.
I'm deeply sorry: Kagiso Rabada on his drug use
Rabada had already departed IPL 2025 in secret in March, claiming personal reasons. He tested positive for a prohibited substance during the SA20 league in January, it was later disclosed. The quick bowler returned to play two more games for the Gujarat Titans following a one-month suspension.
“The decision to come back early [from the IPL] was brilliant, and that's a decision that I made. I could have tried to contest it and whatnot, but coming home was the best option, and I was in good hands. All the parties that were involved made the whole process smooth. I think, as a player and a man, people will have different opinions. I can live with that,” he added.
Rabada, who has already expressed regret to supporters for his behavior, stated that his current goal is to return to playing for South Africa. He acknowledged that he felt bad about failing his loved ones, but he also said he was ready to move on and focus on cricket once more.
“As you would have seen in my statement, there are some people who would have been disappointed. And to those people, I'm deeply sorry. The people closest to me are the ones I felt I let down. But life moves on. I'll never be 'Mr.-I-Apologize' too much. But I'll never condone that action,” the pacer signed off.
