Former legendary Sri Lankan spinner Muttiah Muralitharan has come up with a big piece of advice for former Indian skipper and modern-day batting great, Virat Kohli. Notably, Kohli will be in action with Team India in their ODI World Cup 2023 campaign opener against the five-time champions, Australia.

Both teams will play this all-important match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Speaking of Virat Kohli, he was recently in good touch in the Asia Cup 2023 when he smashed a century against Pakistan in the super-4 round of the Asia Cup 2023. It was also the 47th ODI century for him in his career.

He also became the fastest to reach the milestone of 13000 runs in just 267 innings, surpassing the former legendary Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar who achieved this feat in 321 innings. Apart from that, Kohli is now just 3 centuries away from breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s record of highest ODI centuries (49).

"I will say never change because if he changes then performance." - Muttiah Muralitharan on Virat Kohli

Meanwhile, Muralitharan lauded the attitude and aggression of Virat Kohli on the field and he also advised him to stay the same with his attitude while being in action on the field.

“Virat Kohli should not change his attitude & aggression on the field - this is real Kohli, this is natural so I will say never change because if he changes then performance will drop so be yourself & don't focus outside noise,” said Muttiah Muralitharan on TRS clips.

Notably, it is after a wait of 12 years that the ODI World Cup 2023 is being played in India since the last edition was played in 2011; that edition was hosted collectively by India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.
