The Himachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh governments have announced a cash reward of INR 1 Crore to World Cup winners Renuka Singh Thakur and Kranti Goud, respectively, for their stellar performances in India’s historic World Cup win.
Notably, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced the reward for Renuka on Monday, November 3, and also assured a government job in recognition of her achievements.
“You performed brilliantly and made Himachal proud,” Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu personally called Renuka to congratulate her.
On the other hand, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced an INR 1 crore cash reward for Kranti Gaud, acknowledging her as a “daughter of the state who made the nation proud.”
Kranti Gaud was one of India’s top bowlers at the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, pocketing nine wickets in eight matches, and was also named Player of the Match in the group-stage match against Pakistan for the figures of 3/20.
Meanwhile, the BCCI rewarded the Indian women’s team, selection committee, and support staff, led by Amol Muzumdar, with a cash reward of INR 51 Crore for their exceptional efforts throughout the campaign. Moreover, the ICC rewarded the Indian team with INR 40 Crore for winning the silverware.
“In a momentous achievement for Indian cricket, the Indian women’s cricket team has been crowned ICC World Champions for the first time in history. The entire nation celebrates this landmark victory, which marks a new chapter in the annals of Indian cricket, and especially women’s cricket,” the BCCI statement read.
“To honour this unprecedented success, the BCCI has announced a cash reward of INR 51 crore for the players, support staff and selection committee, in recognition of their remarkable performance, dedication and contribution to the nation’s sporting glory,” the statement added.
