The Ranji Trophy is not the only domestic cricket competition in India. It goes beyond that. Throughout the season, a variety of domestic competitions take place. Traditionally, one competition that customarily begins each season is the Duleep Trophy. Unlike the Ranji Trophy, the Duleep Trophy does not last for several months. However, because of the zonal teams' strong performances, it has a long history.
Since 1961, the Duleep Trophy, which is named after Kumar Shri Duleepsinhji, has played a significant role in Indian cricket. It has produced many famous champions and exciting matches over the years. In Bengaluru, Central Zone defeated South Zone by six wickets to take the title at the end of the 2025 tournament.
