Sri Lanka mystery spinner Maheesh Theekshana is famous for dishing out Arrow celebration whenever he takes a wicket. His celebration is so famous that even the IPL holders created a graphic featuring him using a literal bow and arrow. As he is an army man from Sri Lanka, he was asked whether the celebration is inspired by his other profession.

However, he replied that he is inspired by none other than the DC series Arrow. For the unversed, the series, consisting of eight seasons and more than 20 episodes each, used to be telecasted on CW television from 2012 to 2020. It is part of the massive universe by DC. In the series, Oliver Queen, played by Stephen Amell, acts as a vigilante to curb crime.

After the last season of the show was released in 2020, the show is now available on Netflix.

No, because I just love Arrow. I used to watch the show Arrow on Netflix, and that really inspired me. I just tried to emulate what he did on the show with my celebration,Theekshana said in an interview on the Cricket.com website.

On the other hand, the Sri Lanka Cricket has announced their squad for the ODI series against Afghanistan. For the first time after the ODI World Cup 2023, both teams will play each other. During the showpiece event, the Afghans managed to win against the Lankan Lions. Meanwhile, the home side has announced their team
