Mohsin Naqvi continues to make news at Abrar Ahmed’s wedding reception

Ten days have passed since India defeated Pakistan in the 2025 Asia Cup final in Dubai, earning their eighth championship victory. The BCCI and Indian team players, meanwhile, are waiting to rejoice because the trophy hasn't arrived in India yet. The trophy's return has not yet been clarified by Mohsin Naqvi, the president of the Asian Cricket Council, who vanished with it. 

Naqvi refused to back down after the BCCI approached the head of the Pakistan Cricket Board, demanding a private ceremony to award the trophy to the Indian team. However, it is unlikely that his requests will be fulfilled, which will further stoke the flames.

Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and president of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), was recently spotted in Karachi at the wedding reception of Pakistan leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed. The Asia Cup 2025 trophy was the subject of a significant dispute just one week prior to the event. Shaheen Afridi and Faheem Ashraf were among the other people who attended Abrar's Walima ceremony after he married Amna Rahim.

Mohsin Naqvi has mostly avoided the spotlight since the controversial Asia Cup presentation. But during Pakistani cricketer Abrar Ahmed's wedding, he was questioned by reporters who wanted to know more about the trophy problem. Naqvi just gave a sheepish smile in response to queries like "Where is the Asia Cup trophy?" and "What do you have to say about Suryakumar Yadav's statements?" Eventually, Shaheen Afridi, a pacer for Pakistan, accompanied him to his vehicle.

Recent images show that Naqvi is still holding the Asia Cup trophy. Refusing to present the winning squad right away is not common. According to reports, Naqvi carried the trophy to his hotel room before transferring it to the ACC offices in Dubai when the Indian team refused to pick it up from him immediately. The trophy is still in Dubai over a week later, and there is no sign of a settlement.
