Australia teenager Tom Straker stunned everyone with his sensational bowling performance in the second semi-final of the ongoing Men’s Under-19 World Cup 2024. Aussie U19 skipper Hugh Weibgen won the toss and asked the boys in green to bat first at Willowmoore Park in Benoni.
Batting first, the Pakistan U19 batter looked completely clueless against the fiery bowling of Tom Straker. The young bowling sensation scalped 6 wickets just at the cost of 24 runs in 9.5 overs, including one maiden over. On the back of his amazing bowling figures, Australia U19 managed to bundle out Pakistan just at the score of 179 runs in 48.5 overs.
Azan Awais and Arafat Minhas were the only two batters who played the crucial half-century knocks to help their side go against the unplayable bowling attack of the Aussies. Besides Awais and Minhas, the opener Shamyl Hussain was the only batter to cross the double-digit mark as an individual score.
Notably, the winner of this ongoing second semi-final between Australia and Pakistan will face the defending champions India U19 in the final of the Men’s Under-19 World Cup 2024.
Meanwhile, Australia U19 have started their run-chase in the second innings and scored 41 runs for the loss of one wicket in 12.4 overs at the time of filling this copy. Ali Raza has scalped one wicket for Pakistan so far.
